Accounts and usage limits

Add more than one account per agent, pick one per session, and keep working when one hits its limit.

Each agent starts with the account you signed in with on this computer, the System login. You can add more: a work and a personal subscription, a teammate's spare seat, or an API key.

Add an account

Open Settings ▸ Accounts. Each agent has its own group with an Add account button.

AgentWays to add one
Claude CodeSign in with Claude, Paste a token (from claude setup-token), or API key
CodexSign in with ChatGPT, or API key
CursorSign in with Cursor, or API key
GrokSign in with Grok, or API key
AntigravitySign in with Google, or API key (Gemini)

Signing in works like the first sign-in: open the sign-in page, approve, and enter or paste the code if asked. The account is named after its email. When you paste a token or key, you can give it a name yourself, like "Work".

Every account shows its usage right in the list, for example 5h 62% · resets in 1h 24m.

One agent, one history

For Claude Code and Codex, extra accounts share the agent's history and setup on this computer, so a session can move between accounts and keep its conversation. Only the sign-in is separate.

Pick the account for a session

When an agent has more than one account, the run settings show an Account row. For a new session it's titled Start this chat on, with these choices:

  • Auto (the default): the account with the most room left right now.
  • Any account by name.

Auto looks at each account's usage and how soon its limits reset. It skips accounts that are at their limit or not working. Accounts on API keys don't have limits to compare.

In a running session the row is Run this chat on. Pick another account to move the session there. It happens between turns, and the conversation carries on.

Keep going at a usage limit

Turn on Switch accounts automatically in Settings ▸ Accounts. It's off by default.

When an account hits its usage limit, or stops working, the session moves to the best other account of the same agent once the current turn has ended. Then supermux tells the agent to continue from where it stopped. You'll see a line in the chat like Switched to Work — usage limit reached.

This works for Claude Code and Codex at their usage limits, for Grok when its credits run out, and for Claude Code, Grok and Antigravity when an account's sign-in is refused. Cursor accounts never switch automatically.

If no other account has room, the chat says so, for example Usage limit reached on Work — no other claude account is available.

See your usage

Click Usage in the sidebar's footer, or choose Usage from the sidebar's ⋮ menu. It shows each account's limits and when they reset:

  • Claude Code: the 5-hour and 7-day windows, and extra usage.
  • Codex: your plan's windows, per-model limits and credits.
  • Cursor: the billing cycle and spend.
  • Grok: your credits.
  • OpenCode: tokens and sessions used on this computer.

Antigravity doesn't report usage. Accounts on API keys show Billed per token, so there is no usage limit to show.

Bars turn amber at 60% and red at 85%. The numbers refresh every few minutes, or when you press Refresh.

Remove an account

Click the bin icon on the account. Sessions that use it need another account to continue. The System login can't be removed: it's this computer's own sign-in.
